Facebook application: open the link in an external browser

There is a specific problem with the Facebook in-app browser intermittently making requests to websites that do not have previously set cookies. This seems to be a defect in the browser and should be resolved as soon as possible. The easiest way to avoid this problem is to continue using the Facebook app, but not the in-app browser. This can be done through the following steps:

1. Click the hamburger menu in the upper right corner to open the settings menu 2. Select "Apply Settings" from the menu 3. Turn on the "Open External Links" option (this will use the device's default browser)

Enable cookies in Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9 1. Open your Internet browser 2. Click Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced 3. Check Override automatic cookie handling 4. For first-party cookies and third-party cookies, click Accept 5. Click OK and OK

Enable cookies in Firefox 1. Open the Firefox browser 2. Click Tools> Options> Privacy> Customize settings for use history 3. Check to accept cookies from the site 4. Check to accept third-party cookies 5. Select to keep until: them Expires 6. Click OK

Enable Cookies in Google Chrome 1. Open the Google Chrome browser 2. Click Tools> Options> Privacy Options> Under the Hood> Content Settings 3. Check Allow to set local data 4. Uncheck Block setting of third-party cookies 5. Uncheck Select Clear cookies 6. Close all

Enable Cookies in Mobile Safari (iPhone, iPad) 1. Press the home button or unlock the phone/iPad to enter the home screen 2. Select the settings icon. 3. Select Safari from the settings menu. 4. Select "Accept Cookies" from the safari menu. 5. Select "From Visitor" from the Accept Cookie menu. 6. Press the home button to return to the iPhone home screen. 7. Select the Safari icon to return to Safari. 8. Before the cookie setting change takes effect, Safari must be restarted. To restart Safari, press and hold the home button (about five seconds) until the iPhone/iPad display goes blank and the home screen appears. 9. Select the Safari icon to return to Safari.
